This qualification is designed to support the development of registered managers of adult social care services. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work in adult social care and to have responsibility for leading and managing a service. This will include managing and improving care and support for individuals accessing the service, supporting and developing the workforce, and driving the vision for their service or organisation.
This qualification is most suitable for those working in a managerial role in adult care settings who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at level 5.
Learners will need to be working in a managerial role in an appropriate setting to be able to study for the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care as they will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve a minimum of 95 credits: 80 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 15 credits from the optional units.
It will be internally assessed and externally quality assured through a portfolio of evidence.
